Create a Beautiful Baby Quilt from a Wedding Dress

Recycle a wedding dress into a baby quilt

This beautiful baby Christening quilt was made from the baby's Great-Grandmother's wedding dress.

The gown had been sitting in the baby's Grandmother's closet for many years.  Linda (Grandmom) wanted to have her Mom remembered in the Christening.  So, she asked if I would make a blanket out of it.

The entire blanket is made from the dress (except for the wide satin ribbon. That was purchased). The body of the blanket is the satin from the skirt of the dress and the lace is from the bodice. The center lace square is bordered with the satin band that was at the empire waist and the bow was the back closure.

The baby was wrapped in the blanket at the church.

What a wonderful way to keep family close.
